Integrative Medicine- The need of the hour!
Integrative medicine has been defined as "the practice of medicine that reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person", is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, health care professionals and disciplines to support optimal health and healing.
Integrating the traditional healing systems of our country should be the focus as their resurgence is necessary for drug free living. Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy are the three main Indian systems of medicine which can complement each other for better and long-term healing solutions. Their integration offers a holistic approach which would promote mind body medicine in a comprehensive manner.
