Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones to meet the body’s needs. The thyroid hormone is crucial for regulating metabolism, energy levels, and other bodily functions. Common symptoms of hypothyroidism include fatigue, weight gain, constipation, dry skin, hair loss, sensitivity to cold, muscle weakness and depression. Diagnosis usually involves blood tests to measure levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroid hormones (T3, T4).

An integrated approach including Naturopathy, and Ayurveda for 6 months helped a woman with hypothyroidism from 3 years to have an improved quality of life by reducing weight and fatigue and improving sleep quality symptomatically and her TSH levels seem to be reducing clinically

Case at VHG:

A 39-year-old female came with a known complaint of hypothyroidism for 3 years, she had a gradual increase in serum TSH levels for 2 consecutive years. She presented with complaints of fatigue, muscle weakness, hair loss, indigestion and disturbed sleep for 3 months. The patient was not under any medication. Since she was worried about her sudden shoot in serum TSH levels, she got consulted and underwent therapy at VHG.

Treatment at VHG:

The treatment protocol followed for her condition was:

Naturopathy Detox and

Ayurveda oral medicine
